Tasteem Review- Oil and Grill PORK At Its BEST
You want Cheap and Fabulous, this is the best it can be, the bomb food of the century, the ideal place for cheap and awesome food.
In every foreign country i visit, i always wanted to try the local cuisine, but on my trip to Jakarta recently, most of my colleagues were tight up with Malls and Air Con Restaurant, some how did not manage to bump into the food cuisine i like (which is cheap and fabulous)
On this day, i have a half day free at leisure from my work schedule, i decided take a grab and hop to ITC Kuningan, which is about 20min from my hotel. However, it took me more than 40min to arrive. Traffic is Jakarta is a REAL pain in the ASS sitting inside the car for waste of Time, i even took a real 20min good nap snoring my lung's out to the poor driver. Sorry buddy driver, i did not sleep well the night before.
Oh well thats another story, once arrived at the entrance of the Mall ITC Kuningan, i was damn Hungry, i immediately ask for direction to the Food Court. It was located at the 4th Floor, once i was in that floor, the smell of food run thru my nose to my hungry tummy, it was rather a small and budgeted food court with small walk way and small table and chairs, just enough to fit 2-4 person in my table.
I walk about 5 min (2 rounds) the food court, many are local cuisine such as Ayam PEnyet, Nasi Padang, Nasi Campur, and also Soto Makassar and etc . However, this stall i am reviewing caught my eye and i literally stop and check out their menu.
This is Oil and Grill. A Non Halal stall serving only PORK, especially Grill Pork. It was run by a Indonesian Chinese Young Chef, as i stood by the counter, he was cutting some pieces for other clients, and he immediately offered me a piece that he cut of the Grill Pork. Words cant explain it, but i immediately FALL In LOVE with it, he explain a few range of choices but i chose their "Legendary Dish" and i ordered LARGE as i damn hungry.
The stall was rather small and cosy , just enough space to turn and run the business. The guy in black is the Owner himself. I chatted with him a while and he explained the menu very detail and precise.
The "Legendary Dish" which i ordered LARGE only cost me at 45,000rupiah equivalent to USD3.00.
The menu was quite simple and straight to point, but i like to see other more option such as using Chicken and Beef. However, Pork is fine by me and also i love they char grilled it.
Oh Yeah my food is here, look at that beauty, the owner saw me took some picture of the stall, he even gave a card for some marketing puposes (indeed i will, i answered back).
The saddest part here one thing, the rice is a bit dry, there was no gravy given, no sauce or condiments to eat along with this beautiful dish.
The egg was superb done, the crispy pork was awesome, small chunk bites and tender, the red char siew (BBQ Pork) was also a deliciously cook.
At this point, i only forgetten to take my own picture eating here, (forgive me, it was an honest mistake and truly forgotten due to busy'ness gulping my food)

That does look very mouth watering and I am so thankful to you for explaining that char siew is BBQ Pork. I see this sign here in Malaysia and did not know the translation. Now I will get it next time I see it!
