There is a fruit called 'miracle berry' the consumption of which causes our taste buds to not detect sourness for about half an hour, causing sour foods to taste magically sweet.
Adding salt on pineapples makes them taste sweeter. This happens because the salt reacts with the acids present in the fruit converting into a neutral compound and which causes the fruit to lose the sour taste and become sweeter.
Avocados contain the most fat of any other known fruit. Also, the avocado trees contain enzymes that prevent the fruits from ever ripening on the tree which allows farmers to use the trees as storage devices for up to seven months after the fruits reach full maturity, allowing avocados to always be in season.
Lemons, limes and most other citrus fruits that we consume do not occur naturally in the wild. They are the result of generations of interbreeding between various combinations of the four original citrus fruits.
There is a fruit by the name of Black Sapote or 'chocolate pudding fruit' which tastes exactly like chocolate pudding and is very low in fat content but has about four times as much Vitamin C as an orange.
I will try salt on my pineapple the next time I have some.
Haha please do. I'd also suggest adding a pinch or two of powdered sugar and a sprinkling of crushed black pepper.
Will do.
