It's been 10 days since I last posted here. It's been a busy and tough 10 days to say the least. Fasting/feasting is going good. I've got a few projects lined up for the next few weeks. I got a few things started and I've been doing an incredible amount of research on raising quail, of which will be my first animal I raise - for both meat and eggs. I'll get more into that in a later blog and show the progress of building a cage and setting up an incubator and all that. The bad news is I tore a bicep muscle or tendon working out. The positive thing is there is no protrusion and I still have good mobility without pain.

I have a lot of confidence that it will heal itself within 3-4 weeks. I believe the fasting I do will be the best thing for it. I've seen how fast I heal before when I was doing some fasting after an injury. I also made a deep laceration in my finger the past week which closed up on its own and is healing very nicely.

Enough about my injuries here's what I'm exited about. It's time for seed stating. Here's my new LED light that I got by way of pre selling some vegetable this summer.

I can provide for you a link where to purchase one if interested. So far I'm very impressed.

I decided to save some money on pots this year and give origami pots a try - out of newspaper.

Here's a video on how to make them. I figured out after making a few what will work best for me is starting with 16" x 8".

I think they are perfect for my size garden. I started filling them up with seed starting mix, vermicompost from my bins and a little product called Trifecta+ which is an amazing organic fertilizer you can get from www.migardner.com.

I started a few different seeds and I had a few volunteers come up. I think I'll try to keep all the volunteers alive and see what happens.

I know a lot of people already know that the healthier the animal the healthy the food we have in order to get healthy and stay healthy. I'm here to tell you that for grazing animals the health of the animal is in the health of the soil.

The healthiest people on earth are most likely those who live alongside animals on farms that have healthy soil. You can look into that yourself but that's a trend I've noticed in my research. I just want everyone to please consider something here and think about building some soil in your own backyard or a bin in your house even - like I also do. Search the internet and YouTube how to do so and learn a little bit about composting and if you don't want to use the compost to grow any plants that's fine. Find a farmer or vegetable gardener in your neighborhood to give it too and make their day, they will love you for it.

Composting does not have to be difficult and is one of the greatest things you can do to take care of our earth. Look up the incredible benefits of vermicompost and making a bin. It's so easy.
