Tis the Season

It’s evening time, and dinner is done. Abc Family has begun its 25 Days of Christmas, so the kids are watching The Polar Express. The Christmas tree is up and sparkling with lights and we’ve baked our first batch of Christmas cookies already. The Christmas Season is in full effect in our home. This time of the year was always exciting for me as a little girl, and even now as an adult, I find it to be more exciting!

This week my daughter is singing Christmas Carols with her class along with other classes at our town’s Christmas festival. It’s a celebration held along the river, with thousands of Christmas lights, arts n crafts booths, warm foods and drinks, and a stage for entertainment! And that’s not even half of what it consists of. It truly is a magical time in our town and I’m excited my daughter gets to participate in this year’s festivities.

After the movie, both kids wrote letters to Santa. My son, didn’t quite finish his up. He had to look online before he wrote anything down, and my daughter, after careful thought asked for a Barbie’s Dream House and another Barbie. Consider it done and done!

This Christmas Season, I am thankful to have all my loved ones near, as we get older it no long becomes about gifts, but about family and giving. I am blessed to have all the lovely people in my life, and for me this is all I need for Christmas.
