Motivational Monday

in #health8 years ago

Good day all! I hope that you had a great weekend. Ours was spent with another round of the stomach flu flying through our house. So yeah, that was fun! But now it is Monday, the tummy’s are feeling better, and we have work to do!

I wanted to fill you guys in on how I am making this work and how things are going so far.

First and foremost the only way I am making this possible is by getting up at a ridiculous time of day to ensure I get my workout in before the rest of the family wakes up. That time for me is 4:30 am. The workout is 30 minutes with a couple of minutes at the end where we cool down. So by getting up at 4:30 this allows me time to throw on my workout clothes, get the workout started, do the workout and hop in the shower by 5:15 am. Trust me, the first week was tough but by week 2 my body was naturally getting up around that time. Sunday is my “rest day” but I normally get up around the same time and get things done around the house (meal planning, grocery shopping, budget work, etc).

Two weeks in and I am still loving the workouts. They hard. Even after training for and running a half marathon I will say that my body has been more sore in the past two weeks than it was the entire time I trained for the half marathon. I am just working totally different muscles. I am excited to see how this plan helps my running once the weather warms up and I can run outdoors again.

What I have noticed is that the workouts are really tough at the beginning of the week and slowly get a little easier. This is how it is for me at least for I am sure each persons version of hard is different. I am also monitoring what I eat better than I was before. I am not counting calories but am paying closer attention to portion sizes and being sure I eat more vegetables. We are now having a salad with almost every meal. We are also finding healthier recipes. What I loves is that this is having a positive impact on our entire house since we are not buying much “junk”.

I haven’t done an official weight in or measured inches since I started but plan to do so later. If I had to take a guess I would say my weight probably hasn’t changed much but I have most likely lost inches all around. My clothes just feel more comfortable and looser. Time will only tell I guess!

Have any of you adjusted your workouts or eating habits? I would love to hear what works and what doesn’t work for you all!

Wow! I love pole dancing. Luckily for me I am a student and i can train two or three times a week when I want to in the pole studio nearby.
I admire how you make it work! If I have kids someday, I would like to still be able to pole dance. Seeing this motivates me haha.

I sometimes have a hard time of fully getting warm and getting ready to have pain from te dificult pole moves. What helps me is that I will do a freestyle of only spins for like 2 minutes after my initial warming up. After that I am full with motivation, warmth and ennergy to have a great work-out. Maybe you can use this too :)

I have a job. I have two kids. So I don't have a lot of time... BUT! but I love my workouts. My hard training :)
I am led to believe in this form of happiness only )
Thank you for understanding all this :) And I think you have some very good ideas. I might as well get this over with... tonight

Hi again - there is now a dedicated fitness curator on Steemtrail now, so you can have fitness as your first tag again, then workout, exercise, poledancing, health or whatever you want as your other 4 tags. Cheers.

First off, really awesome stuff in your posts.

Since you're new, I want to make sure you get off to the right start. Have you been posting a link to your posts in Steemit Chat (found in the upper right hand corner in the menu bar)? It helps a lot with visibility and with finding other people to connect with who have posts like yours :).

Also, you should probably check out this and this. Happy, steeming, and thanks for sharing!!
