Steem School Episode 58 - How to Use DSound
Are you a DJ? Do you own a podcast? Or do you simply like to share audio files without a video? Then DSound is perfect for you.
However, as usual, the DSound posts will also be posted on your Steemit blog and that means that you have to add a good description.
If your audio file and your description are of high quality you can hit the post button and not before, remember that nobody likes spammers.
The official address of DSound is www.Dsound.audio.
The website itself is easy to use and when you read and view this guide you will understand how to use it in 5-10 minutes.
DSound Mainpage
When you go to Dsound audio or click on the logo on the top left of the website you will get to see the feed. There you see all kinds of audio files... ALL KINDS!
They are easy to understand, at the right side above and below the volume waves you see the tags and on the left side below the sound waves, you can see a heart which is an upvote button.
You can also download the file there and resteem it if you want.
By clicking on the title of that audio file you are interested in you will get to the single post page where you see the whole description of it + comments.
The audio player is always at the bottom of the page.
DSound Settings
By clicking on your profile picture you get access to a couple of settings.
"My Sounds" leads you to the sounds that you have upvoted.
"Profile on Steemit" and "Wallet on Steemit" are self-explanatory.
The settings below that can be ignored.
Posting Your Sounds
Left from your profile picture is a cloud with an upwards arrow, that is the upload button.
There you can upload your sound files.
"We recommend WAV or MP3 320Kbps files, but FLAC, OGG, MP4, AAC, any MP3, and others are also ok..."
Seems like they allow a very wide range of audio formats on their platform which is very good.
The cover image can be a gif I have found out (like you see in the video). Enter your title, the description, choose your sound type, your main tag and the other tags.
Below that you can enable the download button (people will be able to download your DSound file immediately from their website) or enter the link where your listeners can download the sound file from.
The best thing for producers is the buy button below it. There you can share a link for users to buy your content!
If you are done with all that you only need to enter "publish" on the bottom right and you will be done.
Now you just need to 2nd check your post on Steemit and answer incoming comments!

My main problem with dsound is what type of content could i create in it... in dtube i have some ideas, in dlive too, even zappl, but i have absolutely no ideas with dsound because i don't know how to create any type of music and podcasts aren't really my thing...
What about you Philip, do you have any ideas for a podcast type of show on the steem blockchain?
No, I will continue to use DTube, even without upvotes.
Tutorials require a video and they are a good way to promote your brand.
I have an idea about how much we can utilize dSound.
It is not only for podcast or music, we can use it for every post as a transcribe audio. Even we see some newspaper sites offering audio along with news and articles.
So we can post as usual and read the text and post the audio in dSound. If music or podcast is our with, then we have care of description in dSound, and if our main topic is general article, we need not to worry about description. This is complete different story.
If I got this idea before posting my today's post, I would have applied the idea for that.

Write the post before in the editor, publish your DSound post and then copy & paste the post in.
Boom you have a DSound post with a very nice description.
Absolutely, we write as usual but we should paste in dSound description and click publish button there, not on Steemit to avoid spam/duplicate posting.

What a coincidence! I've just started to use Dsound yesterday! It's a perfect place for my Russian podcast. But I had to spend some time on Sony Vegas ipmroving the quality of my audios, because when people just listen and don't watch, all the hissing noises become so annoying!
I also struggled a little with singing up, you should use your PRIVATE steemit posting key, and I couldn't manage to sign up, because of using the publuc posting key ) learn from my silly mistakes )
