couple of questions: what good can it be to have a very expensive digital money and who will buy it? And, more critical, how can one average joe compete with computer mining farms full of computers crunching digits at speed of light?
all great questions , everyone should buy bitcoin cash immediately and ditch bitcoin , b: you can't compete in mining so either buy antminers or give up , there are other currencies that discourage speed but no idea if it actually works , by best guess is to support bytecoin or dogecoin or the other minnows that are well supported and easy to mine
imo, some of the solution could be developed from perhaps designing an algorithm to determine value that doesn't depend on how much computer power/electricity is applied to a problem. I believe that other components of life/living must be included and used to determine value. Life is not only about computer processor crunching numbers fast. Life is about how can we live sustainably. [ for example, the 1% owning everything is not sustainable. That arrangement must change so that other sustainable life can proceed]. So we must find a digital blockchained coin price that facilitates and sustains the exchange of goods and services. We must find value in and encourage the development and creation of democratic organizations (similar to the time when as an experiment the #OWS movement created organically many democratic (people first principled) utopian examples. If life continues as it is, without any changes to the economic inequality status quo, then the price of bitcoins will only be a continuation of the same o inequality... and the anxiety and attachment for more money in the wallets instead of a desire for quality of living
