Good day!! My fellow steemians.
You are welcome to the steemit crypto Academy season 5 week 3. It was a nice lecture by professor @wahyunahrul about Audius platform which is also decentralized. Below is my homework post.

QUESTION 1

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE PRESENCE OF THE AUDIUS PLATFORM IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?

Audius platform has been a great project to the music industry. We know that music has been a thing people are addicted to. Music is been loved by many people. We have many music creators all over the world, both popular ones and those that are not popular. In other music platform, you will make payments before your tracks will be published and seen by many people so that can listen to your music this makes it to be centralized. Music artist finds it difficult to publish their music because of high payments third party collects.

Audius is here to solve all this issues. Audius is a decentralized music platform that allows music creators or artist to upload and publicized their music without any third party invloved. Music artist has 100% control in their music and can manage it themselves. On the other hand, today, we see many artist copying another artist song. But in audius platforms which works under blockchain technology, all tracks are being recorded in the blockchain network, where anyone can be able to go and view it. Audius platform makes use of audius token called AUDIO, the token is a reward given to music creators when they participate on the competition and came out in the first top 5. Users can also purchase on auido token.

When you publish your song on audius platform, and when people are listening or playing your song, you will eventually get paid with their token, this shows that as a music artist, anything you earned from their is track is all their own, comparing to other music platform, where the platform will also have their own share on any profit made from your track.

This decentralized music platfrom called audius, was created by Roneil Ramburg and Forrest Browning in the year 2018, and it helps in promoting artist and streaming of music. So in my own opinion, i can say that audius is a very big project blockchaim has provided in music industry.

I must say that, audius is fair and fully decentralized even from the governance system, because in audius platform, users have full access to manage their music, without involvement of any institution or party. They publish their music themselves and upload it free of charge. Now, comparing to other music platform, who collects fee from artist so that their tracks will be publish in the internet and also, they have their own share when the song makes any profit. This can make other music platform to be costly for artist, especially for upcoming artist who are still growing in the industry. But in audius platform, they prevent all these from happening. So with all these proves, its clear to us that audius platform is fair and fully decentralized.

QUESTION 3

EXPLAIN HOW TO DO 2 TYPES OF STAKING ON AUDIUS COMPLETE WITH ILLUSTRATIONS. (IMAGE REQUIRED)

I will list the steps on how one can stake on audius. Audius have two site, which are ÷
Audius.rog and Audius.co. Now to stake on Audius, we will be exploring the first site i listed which is Audius.rog lets go!!

First thing to do is to explore the site, then at the homapage, click on token column which is at the top right of the homepage.

By clicking on the token, a new window will open, at that page you will see two different options provided Explore the dashboard and join discord. Then you have to click on the first option which is Explore the dashboard

When explored the dashboard, the new window that displays, asked us to connect metamask wallet, before staking on audius. So all we have to do is to click on connect metamask and a pop out will where you will click on open metamask so that you can be able to connect.

After clicking on open metamask, it will lead us to our metamask wallet, click on next and then click connect.

After doing this, your wallet will be successfully connect to audius platform, now you can be able to stake.

The next thing to do since your wallet is being connected, you have to click on services which is among the four options provided in the page.

Then, the next thing that will display, is where you will see validators who are always available to make the network stand firm. So now, i select one among them.

The next page will open, at the top right side of the window, click on the delegate button.

When you click on it, there will be a pop-out where you be asked to out the amount of $audio you want to delegate. This minimum amount is 100000 Once you put the amount, then click on delegate.

Then after that, click on confirm with metamask. With this steps, you can be able to stake on audius.

SECOND STEP OF STAKING

Now, another way to stake on audius is by Governance proposal. At the homepage, click on governance

It will display a new window that give all the governance proposal, then select one from it

Now, when the page displays, you can see the resolved proposals. Select any one you wish to select. Now, i clicked the first option.

The next windows shows, a delegate button, which is at the right side of the page. Click on it

Then, a pop-out will show, where you will put the amount of audio token you wish to delegate. Then click on confirm with metamask.

SHOW THE STEPS TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT ON AUDIUS. (SCREENSHOT REQUIRED)

I will show steps on how to create audius platform account using its website https://audius.co/

First thing is to explore https://audius.co/ at the down the page, click on sign up for free and follow the procedures.

A new page will open after done clicking on sign up for free
You have enter your existing email address and then click one continue

After done putting your email address, then a new window will explore, where you have to create a strong password, then the second box is for comfirmimg the password in which your create. After that click on continue

When you clicked on the continue, a new window will show up , where you be asked to link up with your social media address or maybe you can choose on i'd rather fill out my own profile manually. I choose the last option in filling my own profile manually.

When you click on filling your profile manually, the next page will shown, where you be asked to set your name and username and also put a photo of you and then click on continue

The next page will want you to follow at least three artist on the platform. So now choose any 3 of the different artist that was listed and click on continue.

The page will inform you to wait for few minutes, so you have to be patient.
Finally, i have create my audius platform using website. You can also follow this procedures to create audius account by using the app too.

EXPLORE AND EXPLAIN THE FEATURES AVAILABLE ON THE AUDIUS APPLICATION OR WEBSITE. (SCREENSHOT REQUIRED)

There are many different wonderful features in audius platform, which i will list some of them and provide screenshots.

We will start by explorer some features in the feed which is the homepage of the audius platform. At the feed, this is where you can see music produced by different artist, you can also play them too.

At the same feed, you can like or share the track by clicking on the botton below the track.

The at the top right of the page, you can also change on how you want to view the track that is listed in the feeds by on the options there which are **all post, original and reposts.

Now at the music track you chosee or you are playing, there is 3 dots beside it, if you click on it, there you will see some options like ÷ adding somgs to your playlist or you can visit the track page or visit the artist page.

Let me select on visit artist page. There you will see the artist page where you can also see all the somg produced by the artist and also see aome other informationa, like how many people the artist is following and how many people is following the artist. You can also decide to follow the artist

You can also visit your profile by clicking your username at the top left corner of the page

There, you can see all your information, your followers and people you are following. As you can see, i dont have any followers yet. At that same profile, you can add your profile picture and cover photo as well. You can also see tracks that you have uploaded though i haven't upload any one yet. I still have not completed my profile yet, as you can see it shows 29% on the bar, which means that i still have more things to update. You can also add description, your social media handle and website, if you have one.

We can also see our playlist, song you liked and you can create your own playlist where you can add your tracks. The playlist is located at the left side of the page. Once you like a song, the song will display under the playlist. You can also add yours by click new.

Now let me show steps on how your can create your own playlist.
When you click on new at that playlist. Thne add your artwork, add playlist name and description and them click on save changes. See screenshot below.

To go on setttings, at the top left corner of the page, there is 3 dots there, click on it and select settings. The settings has different features, verification- where you can link your social media verified account so that you can get verifies on audius platform. You can see Appearance- where can choose wether to use dark mode or light mode. See screenshot below.

You can also see your audio token balance by clicking on that 3 dots at the top left corner of the page, select $audio and rewards there you can see your token Balance . you can also send token to someone if you have and you can receive audio token from people by copying your audio token adress and send to them.

You can be rewarded, once you participate on the competition, where by if you were lucky and been selected among the top five, you be rewarded with audio token. This is another means of making money in this audius platform

QUESTION 6

EXPLAIN IN DETAIL HOW THE MECHANISM OF UPLOADING MUSIC CONTENT ON AUDIUS.

In order to upload music content on audius, there process carried out to make it successful. Eveey node has it's own work. Which i will explain below

The music creator will first of all upload his track amd it will go straight to content node. Then the data will be transferred to reference code which is used for identification . when this is done, all the information which are being attached with the reference code will be duplicated and goes to the other content node. Now, the metadata will help the two content node to attach tracks from the audius platform to the music creator. The transaction carried out will be listed out by discovery node and the music content will be uploaded successfully. So this are the mechanism of uploading music content on audius platform

Now, to upload a track on audius platform, firstly, click on upload track, by the left downside on of the page and them click the center like an arrow

When you click it, it will lead you to your file manager, where you can select any of your song you want to upload.

After done selecting, you have to choose one among the three option, it's either to upload it as a track or as album or playlist. Am select track, because i have only one song. I clicked continue.

Now the final set up, this new page you have to upload your art work pick a genre and mood them add some description and click continue.

CONCLUSION

---

Audius platform aims in promoting and streaming music very easy, whereby music creators can be anke to manage their music themselves without any third party involved. This is a great project in the blockchain technology. The lecture was understandable and i learnt a lot from it.
