Life Of A Patient In A MENTAL ASYLUM ! Life #1

I am not here to talk about those horror movie hospitals, a real mental asylum is a place to take care, treat and improve lives of the people facing mental challenges , these problems might have occurred due to problems during birth, a injury or a trauma. Today Let me tell you about day to day life of a patient in a institution like these, some of these information are a firsthand experience by my friend, who I love and respect with all my heart, let me warn you some of these parts might make you sad.
First of all the factor which decides your stay at the hospital is whether you are an involuntary patient or have agreed to go voluntarily. The entry is similar to that of a prison you are thoroughly checked all your personal belongings are taken away and you have to wear the given by the hospitals.

You are immediately passed thru to your first psych evaluation and It is from that stage it is decided what freedoms will be given to you and furthermore depending on your improvement it is decided what is given or taken from you.
Let us talk about the scariest part ‘the treatment’. The treatment depends on how fast you are recovering if you are recovering fast enough your day will be filled with one to one with psychiatrist, group therapy with people who are on the same mind level as yours, you will be given time to paint, draw, listen to music, do gardening and other recreational activities.

But if you are showing little or no signs of improving, show aggression and anger or stay solitary the hospital will become like a jail for you A MERE HELL which happens mostly with involuntary patients, the relatives of whom leave them in the institution either in a hope to get you well or just to get rid of you. You will end up getting chained, locked up without food, being forced fed the food and the medicines and you will be drugged most of the time, most of the time instead of getting well the patients stay numb or their situation gets worse. You can plead or beg but no one will care of what you think, because people working there only have two things in mind that you are mentally unstable and they have to try to make you well, as the brain is the least understood body part treating it does not comes in exact steps but it is more like hit and trial based on the leanings and outcomes.

Each mental hospital patient is considered to have either suicidal or murderous tendencies, so whenever a patient believes they are well they are kept in observation for 5-6 days before letting them go, as it is common to find a released patient back in the hospital just after 24-48 hours.
I believe no one should ever go to a mental hospital or any hospital for that matter, but if they want to they should be self aware of the problem and corporate with the hospital in steps to get well as soon as possible.
