Leased SP For @ub-sub1

Yesterday I donated 10 Steem to lease more 500 SP to @ub-sub1 and I has been taken.

New Voting Percentages

Please read all the section of this post so that you understand why the action taken will affect us positively going forward.

Our VP is currently voting members at 72% - 80% VP range since after we got the second voting account. While this is great on one hand because we have solved the issue of members missing upvotes due to the fact that our VP dropped below our voting threshold which is 70%, and I had to then start manually checking to upvote members it missed when VP goes above 70% VP. The second account settled that but we have not been growing VP wise, we are growing in members though but not in a way that our VP grows in proportion to the growing membership because most of the growth in numbers is of lower tier membership.

Voting at a VP range of 72% to 80% with 100% voting weight will deliver $0.31 to $0.34 upvote value. Our full potential is $0.43.

Voting at a VP range of 81% to 90%+ with 100% voting weight will deliver $0.35 to $0.39+ upvote value.

We needed a solution where our VP is constantly replenishing daily so that we are not using up the maximum 20% deductions by voting at max 10 times and also staying in the range upper 81% to above 90%+ so that members will constantly receive valued upvotes. I was initially thinking whether a pause in new membership would be the solution or partial pause in new membership allowing only high tier members to join but that idea didn’t sink well with me because the community was meant to support all members irrespective of your level.

@j85063 suggested something I hadn’t thought at all yesterday though I hadn’t seen it yet because I wasn’t with my Laptop then, but when @silvertop supported the idea and tagged my username @ketcom in his response it appeared on my Partiko notice so I went to read what it was about.

The suggestion was to deduct 1% from the upvote weight. I have looked at it and done some calculations. 1% from a 5% upvote receiver would be a 20% reduction to 4%. But the good news is that once our VP grows to the 81% to 90%+ range it would be as if nothing has changed because the 4% upvote value will be equivalent to what the 5% was delivery at 72% to 80% VP. On top of that, our SP and membership continues growing and this also grows the upvote rewards received by members.

If I were to do it 1% for each it wouldn’t be balanced, so I used the percentage effect of the one percent on the first group which was 20% (5% to 4%) and spread it down to other groups. As I have already mentioned, members will notice there is not much change once our VP goes up to the 81% to 90%+ range.

New Voting Weight Calculations

Based on the above, I have adjusted the voting weight percentages you’ll be receiving according to the chart below.

Membership Delegation Levels

Level 1: 10 - 49 SP delegation - 4% voting weight
Level 2: 50 - 99 SP delegation - 8% voting weight
Level 3: 100 - 249 SP delegation - 16% voting weight
Level 4: 250 - 499 SP delegation - 24% voting weight
Level 5: 500 - 999 SP delegation - 36% voting weight
Level 6: 1,000 – 2,499 SP delegation - 48% voting weight
Level 7: 2,500 – 4,999 SP delegation - 60% voting weight
Level 8: 5,000 – 7,499 SP delegation - 72% voting weight
Level 9: 7,500 and above gets you 80% voting weight

Please don’t panic, within days you’ll notice you are receiving the same value of upvotes and then it starts growing even further as our SP grows.

This option is a growth option which can be replicated in future to allow further growth as our SP continues to grow with increased membership.
