Greetings to everyone one, I'm writing on PLAGIARISM from what I learnt on the lesson of ACHIEVEMENT 3 task I implore you to follow up.
WHAT DOSE PLAGIARISM MEAN?
Plagiarism is an act when the work of someone else is being used without giving reference to the person who owns the content, ideas, thougt, writing or without citing the idea.
How is plagiarism detected?
Plagiarism is detected by the use of plagiarism checker on different devices.
Types of plagiarism
- Global plagiarism: In this type of plagiarism the entire idea, thought belief or context is being plagiarised
- Paraphrasing plagiarism: In this type of plagiarism one make someone else's idea or thought looks like as if it were your own idea
- Verbatim plagiarism: This is a type of plagiarism that is copied directly but with the use of citation or quotation marks
- Self plagiarism :Here work that has been done by you is being recycled
- patchwork plagiarism: This is when work from different sources is being combined together to form a single work
How to avoid plagiarism
-The use of citation
- Using quotation mark when text or paragraphs is being copied from a source
CONSEQUENCES OF PLAGIARISM
- Reduction in the mark or point of the context, idea or belief
Why is plagiarism an important issue to address? - It is a form of dishonest act when done deliberately
- It put the person you plagiarised into harm i.e if the person thought or idea that is being plagiarised is what the person does not want to spread therefore it hurts the person indirectly
- The source of idea belief, thought or writing is being hindered.
CONCLUSION
From the lesson it has show that plagiarism is a dubious act and which must be avoided at all cost.
