Way back in my childhood days, I spent it in the province with my family, living a very simple happy family. Farming is our source of livelihood until now. We plant vegetables and corn and sell it to wholesalers. Aside from farming we raised chickens, cows and goats. My assigned job or contribution to the labor of the family was taking care of the goats at that time we have more than ten goats but less than twenty.

I would like to share my experiences as a goat herder and the different behavior of goats. Goats are the cleanest animal, very delicate when it comes to their food. I hung branches with their leaves on enough height for them to eat, especially during rainy days we keep them shelter. They are clean eaters, they eat food that fell on the ground their smell is very sensitive. They drink water on a small clean basin that I provided for them. Goats are smart they knew me as their herder when they hear my voice they respond by bleating maybe because they knew I love them and they trusted me.

Goats have supremacy with other herds and it's the doe. She is the queen, the defender for enemies or any other goats, the leader of the herd. If there is a queen, there is a king, what is the role of the king in the herd? The buck or billy, the biggest and the strongest in the herd. Aside from attracting females, bucks fight for supremacy to retain it's position it will last until it dies or loss in a fight if another buck or billy challenges to fight usually the younger ones.

As goat herder what I like most are the kids, they are very playful and I love their moves, running, jumping at certain heights, climbing rocks, walking along the lying logs and they don't fall down, goats have the best agility and balance. Kids like head butting but not serious, its just for fun unlike the doe and the bucks.

Goats are fund of chewing just like me, the only difference is I have chewing gum in my mouth while goats has nothing on their mouth. Goats sneeze but it's nothing to worry unlike humans sneezing is a symptom of cold or allergy. As a goat herder during my childhood days I learned so many things but the most important is the love and care for these creatures from us humans who has the highest intelligence.

Hope You Like It, Thanks A Lot
