TF2 Weapon of the Week: Back Scratcher

In Team Fortress 2, The Pyro Class does not have very good Melee Weapons, The Best Melees are the Utility ones, and When it comes to Utility Melees two come to Mind, My Favorite of the Two Options is the Back Scratcher

The Back Scratcher is a Melee Weapon for Pyro.

It Provides a 25% damage Bonus, Turning the Standard 65 Damage Per Swing, to a 81 Damage Per Swing, it can Kill Medics and Gunslinger Engineers in 2 hits while Normally it takes 3 hits with Stock.

It Also Increases Healing Via Health Packs by 50%, Making Small Packs heal 31%(from the Normal 20%), and Medium Packs Heal 75%(from the Normal 50%).

The only Known Downside of the Weapon is Reduced Healing from Medics, Dispensers, and Payload Carts. This Downside is not so bad, Pyro's Role in Battle is Being alone, Ambushing a Group of Enemies from an Unexpected Location, Plus While It Makes it Longer for a Medic to Heal a Pyro, it Allows the Medic to Build a Faster Ubercharge while pocketing a Back Scratcher Pyro. The only Real Downside from this is the Reduced Healing from Dispensers. Which can be a Problem if you are playing Defensively. However the Increased Healing from Health Packs more then Makes up for that. as it fits in with Pyro's Role, being Able to take a Smaller health Pack when a Nearby Allied Spy Needs a Larger one. so It Really Helps with Teamplay

Now for Some Tips with the Weapon.

This Weapon is Really Bad when it Comes to being a Pocket for a Pocket Medic thanks to the Reduced Healing, When using this You Always Want to be Behind Enemy Lines with this Melee. You Typically want to be on the Offensive team as well. If you are on Defense, You are better off using Stuff Like the Homewrecker or the Neon Annihilator.

You Also want to Avoid Using Large Health Packs unless it is the only Pack Around. Typically You are better off with a Medium Health Pack if you need a full Health Restore.

Only go for Medium Packs if you are Below half health, otherwise Just go for a Small Health Pack.

Finally this Weapon can be used as a...well.. Weapon, it is a Better at Fighting then Stock, and the Back Scratcher has no Downside in a Fight.
