Critical thinking isn't always critical?

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 years ago

I keep seeing photos of celebrities going round with an eye covered suggesting it means their part of the illuminati. Do I believe in a lot of these underground cults? absolutely and I’m not saying I disagree with a lot of what’s said but we are supposed to be critical thinkers and this weakens peoples arguments by using these photographs. I was a fashion photographer for 15 years and I’ve got a whole portfolio full of models with one eye covered or doing strange things to cover part of their face or hand symbols. I can absolutely assure you I wasn’t part of any illuminati or freemasonry group I just wanted interesting things to do with the models hands rather than just straight up portraits. Yes of course You could say I was influenced by other photos they push out there but was every fashion photographer and model we shot a Freemason definitely not. I would mean every single bit part model was part of the inner circle and every photographer. Here is just one example of a photo I took below, excuse the quality as I pulled it off pintrest but I have thousand more with similar poses to what I see shared around. I wasn’t even aware of any of this stuff when I was taking these shots we were just messing around with hand poses to get interesting shots. I have more obvious ones even, if I spent time going through my portfolio that look even more like the ones I see shared. In my opinion it is not critical thinking to assume everybody with their hand in a position on a fashion magazine is a high ranking Freemason. I honestly cringe when I see people sharing a photo of an eye covered as some kind of proof.
You could say that they put these references out in magazines so people will get inspired by them so we start using the symbols more absolutely but trying to suggest that every model that puts their hand in this position is part of the illuminati or a Freemason is completely in factual. Guarantee no one turned up to any of my home shoots and told me that I wasn’t doing enough illuminati poses And that I needed to do more.

I actually didn’t even watch TV when I was a photographer and I didn’t really read any magazines it was generally just a product of the model doing these poses, or me telling her to try them or even the stylist or the make-up artist offering a suggestion in an attempt to make a visually pleasing photograph with good composition. Yes of course we are all influenced to a degree by what goes on around us but I was probably way less influence and most people who watch the television and read magazines and newspapers.

Don't get me wrong I do believe we have subliminal messages pumped at us all the time, but do I think that every bit part model or singer who covers an eye in a photo is a high ranking Freemason... definitely not.

I did leave the industry tho because I do think generally it’s not helpful for the world for many reasons and I didn't feel I was contributing to something good with airbrushing, hyping over priced products to people to try and pull them into believing they needed these things for someone to love or accept them. Not that I ever did it for those reasons I just loved taking photos and I am proud of my portfolio but I realised that the greater picture wasn't good for our evolution. Now I tend to just work for small independent brands if I do anything.

Are these photos all taken by you? They are beautiful and super high level, regardless of one eye closed and such.

Yes I used to have an agent and got into Conde Naste etc but I didn’t feel it was for me anymore so started painting lol
I post that side of me tho on @fashionphotos and I still do a few smaller things but I just stopped feeling the industry

Oh, I voted for some of these posts, and did not know it was you...

Yeah I tried to keep it separate because originally this was going to be a page for my spiritual magazine hence the name and then I was going to put my fashion photography on a separate page this was back in 2017 LOL and I’ve just kept it like that.
