Update #19: Writing Expedition ✍️, Have Fun while Writing! Creating a Leafy Creature Card - 5-minutes craft

I wanted to take a moment to address a pressing issue that many families are currently facing. With the soaring prices of essential commodities, including premium motor spirits, coupled with the high cost of food, times have become incredibly challenging for numerous households
This strain has taken a toll on several parents and caregivers, which leaves them irritable and easily provoked.
Even parents with unwavering patience now find themselves losing their temper at the slightest provocation. The situation is undeniably dire and deeply unsettling.
Today, I witnessed a truly heart-wrenching incident involving a child I hold so dearly and her father. The man snapped at his child today, a behavior I had never seen him exhibit behaviour knew at that moment that something was amiss so I approached him in his quiet time and told him what I observed. Asked him what was the matter and he shared his worries.
The summary here is that the situation surrounding him made him unhappy. He felt remorseful for transferring the aggression to his kids and thanked me for giving him a listening ear without judging him.
So what's the conclusion?
It's clear that several individuals are bottling up a lot of emotions. They need someone who can reach out to them with reassuring words that can soothe their pains. These individuals are everyday people around us like parents, caregivers, those grappling with the weight of depression and other personal battles. So how do we reach out to them and show them that they are loved?
I came up with this Leafy Creature Card.
This card will serve as a tangible representation of our unwavering support and affection for those facing adversity.
Crafting this card requires nothing more than a few readily available materials:
- a plain A4 paper
- Scissors
- Markers or Pens
- Ruler
- Leaf
- Glue
The steps are pretty simple to follow. Let's begin!

| Measure the height of the card first. Mine is 9cm. Then mark the length of the width. Mine is 18cm. |

| Cut out the sketched part. Design the cover page. Add your leaf. |

| Cut out an eye for your leafy creature. You can add a mouth with a black marker or anything to make it look more like a living creature. Just be creative. Give your creature beautiful legs. |

| Flip the inner part of your card open. |

| Write out a heartwarming note to your recipient. |

| Now send it to your parents and loved ones. |
The idea behind this
- Leaves travel fast, especially when the wind blows so hard. They symbolize growth, resilience, and renewal.
- Also, they serve as a form of medication. Most drugs, antidepressants and antidotes are derived from trees.
- Next, nature itself heals. Chromatherapists suggest that the colour green relieves stress and relaxes a person.
- Finally, no one resists the show of love. It might take a while but they'll always come around.
