ENO-OBONG THE AMAZONIAN

I will be sharing the story of my bosom friend called Eno-obong. Her name is derived from two Ibibio words "eno" meaning gift and "obong" meaning God. This means a gift from God.
I met her few years ago at a girl child summit organized by a NGO to commemorate the International Day Of The Girl Child. She was invited to speak on the topic, “Advancing The Cause Of The Girl Child Using Digital Technology”. Her speech was so eloquent that I had to walk up to her after the event to commend her concise but powerful speech. I could see that she was passionate about female self-assertion and this desire enabled her to help other females in the past.
She didn't seem to come by this personality overnight and I could not wait to find out more about this great lady who has the warmest smiles and calmest demeanor. When she agreed to see me two days after our first meeting, I got to know that Enobody has a great personality. She is smart, brave, absolutely gorgeous and resilient. According to her, she has a purpose earth which is to save her world.
Her desire to save the world began when she had to abolish the killing of twins. There was a time when the other inhabitants of the land in which she lived in accused the people of her nation of an offence which penalty was death, she used her place of authority to ensure that her people did not go into extinction. On another occasion, she had to risk her life in a war with intruders for her nation. She came home victorious but only sustained a few bruises and scars. Enobong is truly a hero. The people celebrate her greatness.
She has just been delivered of a bouncing baby girl today whom she names Edidiong, an Ibibio name that means "blessing". She brags of how great Edidiong will be. But Enobody is not only a wife and mother, she is indeed God's gift to the world.
Eno-obong and Edidiong represent every girl child on earth. She is that girl who will become a great photographer, writer, medical doctor, teacher, engineer, fashion designer, barrister, music artiste, actress, TV presenter, OAP you name it. We are all God's gift to humanity. Our purpose does not end at being just mothers to our children, we are created to nurture the world at large with our different abilities. There is power in every female that has ever existed on earth. For me, I'm concerned about building my world especially helping my fellow girls and women.
