First Ever Road Trip With My Dad
*My biggest travel in 2023 was my first ever real travel with my Dad. Before this, I had traveled to the village long before but that was when I was barely five.
So this trip was basically my real first trip all grown up. I was traveling from Benue state, the place I grew up in and lived literally my whole life, to Akwa Ibom, my state of origin.*

*I traveled by bus from Benue State to Akwa Ibom State because of my varsity education. That is traveling from the North down to the south, it was quite a long trip. I had just gotten admission into the university of Uyo and screening was fast approaching.
This is the reason I embarked on this journey. Living the only home I have ever known and my mother all in Makurdi to pursue my education was really challenging for me.
At first, I was very excited and earnestly awaited this trip since I would be reuniting with my siblings in Akwa Ibom but the moment my mum left the park and the bus began to move, I started feeling rather emotional.
I knew it wasn't going to be like any normal trip I had embarked on before. I was leaving Benue fortunately yet unfortunately for good.
One funny incident that happened was me throwing up. This one had taken me and my dad whom I was traveling with completely by surprise.
What happened was that, on our way, I was beginning to feel sick. I thought it was because I was taking drugs and the sickness was just acting up so I asked to eat something in order to take my drugs. But the moment I took the first byte, I knew I had to throw up.
I could see my dad's astonished appearance. Stuffs like this was usually handled by my mum. She would always know how to handle these kind of surprises.
Lucky enough, a bag was quickly provided for me. The passengers began asking for bitter cola to be given to me. After taking it, I felt better. I learnt later on that it happened to most people during road trips.*
Despite all that happened, traveling with my dad was just the best. I enjoyed a lot of snacks along the way and most of all, I felt safe.
I would love to travel more this coming year but if it would be a road trip. I would prefer somewhere not to far since I realized I might not really love road trips as much as I thought.
Though, I don't have a definite place in mind but I'm certain I would be doing a lot of traveling this coming year.
Thank you for taking time to read through. I would love to invite my friends; @bossj23, @usoro01 and @zekanem to partake in this contest.
You just reminded me of times when I went with dad to purchase things along the roadside. 20 steps of mine are like 5 steps of His. If you don't follow him side-by-side, you'll lose him as he doesn't turn back. You made a great post here. Thanks for the invite
Thank you for reading through and dropping this nice comment. Indeed this topic stimulates nostalgia.

It is good to know that you have visited many villages and visited these areas. Then if we talk about your real life trip, this is the first real trip of your life that you did with your father, this trip you enjoyed very well when you were studying in university or other. Whatever activity you have been doing is great and you have shown a lot of effort in this post and I wish you success here.
