A TEEN THAW: UNALIVE {A Tutor}
UNALIVE |

Tommy never mentioned that incident to anyone, not even his mother. He didn't want to be the reason his perfect family would be ruined.
Though he could never really respect or look up to his father after that day, he hoped his little siblings would enjoy that luxury.
He regretted returning home early that day, he hated the fact that he couldn't forgive his father and just let go but what ate him up more was the guilt of hiding it from his mom.
She had every right to know and not be treated like a fool but there were so many things that would be at risk. Ignorance was bliss but awareness not so much.
Tommy thought everything was going to work out fine as long as he kept his mouth shut. As long as he somehow erased the memory of that day, his family could still be perfect maybe not for him but at least for his mom and little siblings.
Indeed, it did seem to work out for the first three weeks and then his little brother got a tutor.
That day, it was going to be a family dinner and his mom was so excited. His little brother was having some learning issues so finally getting someone to agree to tutoring him was a big miracle.
He remembered how she busied herself in the kitchen still ensuring to threaten everyone not to dare skip dinner. It felt almost like before.
Her happiness was especially infectious. He even consented to calling his father out for dinner that day, one of things he hadn't done for three weeks now.
He gradually began to accept human imperfections, his father was no superhero, he was but human. It was disappointing to realise but it was the truth. Besides, the fact that he was still with them showed that he cared after all.
Maybe it was so or maybe he just didn't want to see the flaws, scars and imperfections anymore. He also craved to return to the way things were.
The thought was still on his mind when his mom and his little brother's supposed tutor walked in through those doors.
That woman!
