SUICIDE: Cowardice or Bravery?
My heart is full. I'm writing this as it is in my heart.
As a passionate Arsenal fan, the news of Eboue's death struck me hard, and got me thinking about suicide and life generally. Many people undermine the importance of a good mental health. Your mind is your power house, the moment it gets hit, your whole life gets affected.
People who call Eboue a coward for allegedly committing suicide, have no idea what it means for one's hope, achievements, dreams, ecstasies, and life, to crumble before the mention of Jack Robinson, right in one's very before, duly as a result of one's ignorance.
Depression is a bitch. It kills slowly and quietly. No matter the sympathy you get from the public, depression would still aim at reducing your self esteem to the barest minimum. I've been there. I'm glad i escaped.
Is suicide actually cowardice? Or, Is it bravery? I'd leave you to decide for yourself. Suicide is actually the hardest thing any human can do. It's an action intended to end pain and suffering when hope has been reduced to level zero. It's deeper than it seems. Not everyone has the luxury of the emotional strength you have.
I'm not in anyway suggesting suicide for any depressed person. I'm only trying to make you understand what it means to be depressed, so your empathy can come first before your quick judgemental and vitriolic 'cowardice' label, at the hearing of such action.
While we keep hoping the highly rumoured news of Eboue's suicide is false; Please dear friends, this is 2018, take your psyche and mental well being seriously. Your happiness and peace of mind should be greatly considered in every decision you make. Humans are fickle, do away with toxic people.
Understand that as long as you live with humans, you'd regularly get pissed, so, you shouldn't let it break you. The best you can do for yourself is to do away with all forms of negative vibe. Find a reason in yourself to always be happy and grateful. Don't give anyone or anything the right to your happiness in entirety. And then, when life shoves it ugly face on you, just hang on to that thin thread of hope called breath.
Happy new year once again, Steemians. I wish you all a positive and 'depression-free' 2018.
