Clerodendrum Glabrum Tree 🌳
A small to medium deciduous tree called Clerodendrum glabrum which is widespread from Tropical to Southern Africa.
The tree bark is covered in a prominent white lenticels while the leaves are usually in whorls of 3 & orderly produce a fetid smell when it’s crushed.
The glabrum is commonly used in most cases as insects repellent.
It’s traditionally used by Vha-venda always to counter the effect of witchcraft & the tree strong smell produced by the leaves is also believed to repel polecats & hyenas & was allegedly used often by witches.
