Aucuba japonica is commonly called spotted laurel, Japanese laurel, Japanese aucuba or gold dust plant, Aucuba is a genus of three to ten species of flowering plants, now placed in the family of Garryaceae, although formerly classified in the Aucubaceae or Cornaceae.
It’s a shrub native to the rich forest soils of moist valleys, thickets, by streams & near shaded moist rocks in China, Korea & Japan.
