Red Bougainvillea glabra, also known as the lesser bougainvillea or paperflower, is the most common species of bougainvillea that’s used for bonsai. The epithet 'glabra' comes from Latin & means ‘bald’.
It's used as the traditional medicine for different therapeutic conditions ranging from insecticidal, anti-inflammatory, anti-diarrhoeal, anti-ulcer, anti-diabetic & anti-microbial.
