Achievement 2 - Understanding the basic security and Steemit wallet

Hello steemians. Today I'll be completing my Achievement 2 on the newcomers program. On which I'll be talking about the steemit security system and how you can keep your keys secure.

To keep your Steem account secure you must save your master password and keep it somewhere safe. The master password is used to derive all keys for your account, including the owner key. If logging in with your post key, make sure you don't overwrite or misplace your original master password.

also know that each of the key have a very important role to play.

With the little knowledge I have I will briefly enlighten you more about the keys and how they can function.

Types of Keys

• Posting Key
• Active Key
• Memo Key
• Owner Key
• Master password

Posting key: The posting key is used exclusively for submitting posts, is the safest way to log into an account. It limits the privilege of the person using it to functions that do not have access to the wallet, thereby maintaining the safety and security of the tokens, it is also the primary way of logging into your account.

Active key: The active key should only need to be used to confirm transaction or trades or change user settings.

Meno key: The Memo Key is used for handling private messages and encrypted transaction.

Owner key: it is the key required to change all the other keys.This is the key that should be most carefully safeguarded against loss or theft.

Master password: Having the master password enables to retrieve all private keys of an account.

How can I keep my Steem account secure?

• Manage your password
• Remove risky access to your data
• Turn on screen lock
• Encrypt your wallet and neverever forget your Password.

Do You Know How To Transfer Your Steem Token to Another User In Your Account?

I practically did it myself and i would be sharing with you. In order to carry out the monetary transaction you will visit your wallet like I did below!!!

From the image below, I clicked on the Steem button which will lead you to the options, then I clicked on transfer.

After I clicked on the transfer button I inputted the receivers name and the Amount of Steem asset, then I clicked on the button (Next) to confirm my transaction..

Powering up Steem is also know as transferring your liquid Steem into vesting shares, look at the images below.

On my Steemit wallet, I clicked on the Steemit button where I saw same opinions, but this time I clicked on Power Up and the below image appeared.

At this point, I filled in the amount of liquid Steem to transfer to vesting shares, after doing all that i clicked on the OK button, then I filled in my active key to complete my transaction.
