Have you seen my new machine from Steem?

in STEEM FOR BETTERLIFE2 years ago (edited)

It looks like It's good news for Nigerians as the old Nigerian currency note has been declared legal tender!

I can't really state the damages which banning the old notes for over one month now has caused to so many lives, families...etc..., however, the message above doesn't sound nice for some Nigerians, I will tell you the reason much later in this publication. For now, I'll like to share a little win story with you all.

Rejoice with the little win

Some months ago I was having difficulties operating my laptop because it was faulty. The laptop has served me for a very long time and It was now time to change it to another one.

But there was a problem..., I didn't have the needed fund to settle that. Electronics are expensive these days. But I needed to carry out some of my roles and this means, I need to buy a laptop.

Inspecting my new machine!

The only idea that came into my mind was to go sign up for a loan in other to purchase this laptop...and I will have to pay monthly with interest depending on how long I will be able to finish the payment. It was a tough decision, I don't like loans, but I didn't have any option...

I went for what is called "Easybuy" in Nigeria. I have used this service before and I think It was cool back then. It is a loan service, you can read more information about it here

Easybuy, a subsidiary of Palmcredit, is a mobile financial service that offers loan services. With Easybuy Service, you can buy your mobile phone with a loan and payback in installments - Ref.

Dell Latitude E5450, 8GB Ram, 1 Tarabyte Internal harddisk.., Win 11

To cut the long story short, I just finished the payment some days ago after I completed some electrical installations in a building close to my zone. It was just the installation of a prepared meter and 24-knife switches. It took me about 5 hours to fix this.

Power point!

I finish paying the loan some days ago...and so I can say that the laptop is mine now. Meanwhile, I have used it for over two months now.., but since I didn't finish the payment, I couldn't call it mine..😂

And since steem is in Nigeria, it also helps me to offset that bill, And the TRX came right on time! I am glad for this provision, Indeed Steem can Improve lives. I got the Dell latitude for 1880 Steem which is approximately ₦282,649 (Two hundred and eighty-two thousand six hundred and forty-nine)

Isn't that a little win that worth counting it as a blessing, it is actually something new I got from Steem and my little side hustle. This will make my work easier. Thanks to all the friends who always support my content to achieve this.

Nigerians to use old Currency notes

When I returned last night, I saw a notification on my Twitter handle and It was a piece of Interesting news. The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) declared that the old Naira notes which include ₦200, ₦500, and ₦1000 (Naira) are now legal tender till 31st December 2023.

From CBN official page.

I promised from the onset that I will tell you why most Nigerians are not happy with the new declaration to use the old Currency notes and here is it: It is because .....many have died due to severe sickness as they were not able to cash out from their various banks to care for their health... because this policy was implemented.

Families have stayed hungry for days because the old notes were no longer legal tender, whereas they still have them at hand...but they can't use them and can't have access to the new re-design notes.

Many kids have stayed back from school because their parents were not able to pay their school fees through bank transfers, and they didn't have the new re-design notes.

And now all of a sudden, there is an announcement that citizens should start using the old notes till 31st December 2023.

I just hope that funds will start circulating, there is a Scarcity of fund in the city!

I am very happy that you can now call your laptop your own! I am even happier that your government has seen sense and ended the unbearable conditions that escalated with the ill-prepared introduction of new banknotes. At the same time, I am very sad that people have to suffer because politicians who (ostensibly) represent the interests of the people are grossly negligent with their position of power and make irresponsible decisions. And yes, I do not only mean those in Nigeria ;-((

Thank you very much for those kind words. I am happy too that I can call that mine...

Yes, It's actually a good one but we are waiting for this fund to circulate first. For now, we haven't seen it since they announced it. If you go to the bank now...they will still tell you that they don't have money in the bank.

We would still be watching if Cash will start circulating.

It is a great news, having computer make life easier, you can not only surf in Internet but to do a lot. Nice that TRX made it possible to py off the outstanding sum, it is always good to have your own stuff and not borrowing it.

Hopefully, the new policy will help citizen in Nigeria who will be able to use the old banknotes.

Thank you so much for your great contribution.

Ofcourse with my new Laptop i can handle many task.....steemit responsibilities become interesting doing them with it.

Hopefully, the new policy will help citizen in Nigeria who will be able to use the old banknotes

I hope so too, up till this moment, we haven't seen cash yet..not even in the bank, so we are still buying our own currency.

If you manage to see it anywhere you will have to buy it. That means...you will need to pay 20% of what you want to cash out.

Unfortunately, it's difficult to even see the cash.
