Las Vegas, Navada - Part One - The LV Healing Garden

Written by: Nathaniel Hammel http://nathanielhammel.xyz
I left Santa Barbara, California after going to SBCC (Santa Barbara City College) after a wonderful 2-year program to get my AA Degree in Acting & Directing. A total of 3 years. Santa Barbara Was a wonderful place to be near the ocean and other artists like me. Like always ... as a traveler, it was time to move on and add the experiences I gained in school and out of school to my life's journey.
So I moved on to see Las Vegas, Nevada on June 5th, 2018 and stayed in vegas until August 7th, 2019. Which made a year and 2 months of fun and struggle.

Down Town Freemont Street, which is the original strip in the '60s & '70s. https://alpha.steepshot.io/post/life/@twunders/fremont-street---las-vegas-nv-2018-06-17-01-45-20
One of the 1st Places I went to was both the Modern Day Strip:
and of course the Fremont experience above.
I spent a good time in the arts district as I do in most places as they seem to be the safest places to sleep outside when I travel to big cities.
One of my favorite spaces of The Art's District here in Vegas is called: The LV Healing Garden which was built in October 1st of 2017 in respect and remembrance of the Mandalay Bay shooting where 58 individuals lost their lives. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Las_Vegas_shooting

Built within 1 single week after the shooting took place:

Which almost 8 months later was rebuilt and stabilized for a more permanent outlook:
Around the whole healing garden are 58 cicada trees dedicated to those 58 wonderful souls.

When I 1st arived in Las Vegas and found the healing garden I met a wonderful individual named Mike Smith Sr.

After meeting him I gave a good solid 4 months of my time every day as a volunteer with Mike Sr and George:
helping with watering the plants, picking up the trash that blew in, and many other chores needed to keep the upkeep of the garden.
