Waking Dreams

You know when you are having a waking dream and you hear footsteps walking toward your bed, but you are frozen and cannot turn and see who it is?

"Clop, Clop, Clop..."

Or that one where you start to sit up, but a hand comes out from the bed and pulls you back down?

Or when you are woken by your sister crying, and you lay for a minute exhausted before you finally get out of your bed and look out in the hallway; towards her room between the hall closet and the attic. Then you realize there is no door between the hall closet and the attic; and you do not have a sister.
