My task for this week: Work on this monstrosity.

My brother found a giant canvas by the side of the road and I decided to paint over it. Some subtle aspects of the original design can still be seen, and the gravel texture was part of it. It has been through many transformations since then, The head in front was once a treeant. (Painted by myself. The original image was completely abstract, red and yellow lines.)

I am not going to say I will " finish" it, because I still do touch ups on paintings my friends bought years ago. But I will work hard on it; posting my progress and possibly entering it in a contest or challenge if it fits into one.

Here is another picture, to help you realize why I call it a " monstrosity"

It is a rather gigantic acrylic on canvas; I will measure it later. I am not quite sure what to do with it when done...ish. It would take up the entire wall of my gallery space and I doubt I could sell anything there for more than 500 dollars; I would want more for a piece this large.

It goes with a personal style of painting I am developing; I will discuss that more during updates. Thank you for reading:)

I think repurposing canvases can be good for b the soul. Especially if it's one that needs to be repurposed. I am currently in the process of this. ...it will be an interesting emotional journey as this repurposement project has a sad underlying thing i just can't speak of right now. So it will be repurposed to invoke calmness.

It was hard at first; Someone had put their hard work into it. But I saw images in my mind ; something deeper was trying to speak. Perhaps the other artist would not mind so much if we created this important thing together.

I think finding it abandoned was your first clue to go down the path of repurposement :)
