Low Profile 低调

We are living in a world with people trying to be high profile in order to become successful. Indeed, by using promotional tactics and advertisements, an ordinary person with average talent can be perceived as better than he or she actually is. Having created a good impression to others, the person may be given opportunity to climb up the success ladder.

As people like to become high profile, many people can actually quite superficial. They can have positions but without the capability to carry out their roles and responsibilities. They may have money but not versatile.

What should a society look for today?

In view of the above, it is high time for our society to encourage people to be low profile but with an attitude of acquiring depth. Certainly it is better to be humble with depth than being arrogant and superficial. There are people who have become wealthy due to industrialisation and urbanisation of their fast-developing country. However, they have been negatively influenced by materialism and consumerism. They try to be high profile to show off their luxurious life-style without realising that is only a form of superficiality.

Therefore, let’s behave as low profile people who pursue depth and willingly do our job faithfully.

我们如今生活在一个不少人都试图要成为高调人仕的社会以便取得成功。实际上，通过使用促销手段和广告，一个普通人可以被视作比实际的自己更好。因为在别人面前取得良好印象，这个人就可能有机会爬上成功阶梯。

随着人们喜欢高调，然而许多人可能很肤浅。他们可以有高职位，但却没有能力履行自己的职责。他们可能有钱而却不是多才多艺。

社会今天到底应该寻找怎样的人呢？

基于上述情况，我们的社会现在应该鼓励更多人成为低调而有深度。当然，一位谦虚並有深度的人在品格上远远超越了骄傲和肤浅者。由于一个国家透过工业和城市化而取得快速发展，也造成了不少拥有财富的人。然而，他们受到物质和消费主义的负面影响，因此会试图高调展示奢华的生活方式，却没有意识到这只是一种肤浅的表现。

因此，让我们宁可选择成为低调的人，却同时追求有深度並忠实地做我们的工作。
