Good Communicator 良好的沟通者

A good communicator is able to bring across a message relevantly and inspiringly. It means that the communicator has to achieve two aspects beside paying attention to other necessary details.

First, the message is relevant. Take an example, in a time of economic downturn many people feel the financial pressure. But the way they express their frustration can be very different depending on their educational and social background. If they are educated, they probably would link the downturn to figures such as inflation rate and devaluation of currency. As for the grassroots who come from the lower income sector, figures can be irrelevant and incomprehensible. Instead, they can resonate with the communicator if the latter is able to articulate his speech with the daily livelihood such as now the people cannot afford to have a proper meal as before. They used to eat a meal with two dishes but now only can afford to have a dish of vegetable.

The second aspect is inspiration. A good communicator is able to convince his audience by stating rational and logical fact. But such attempt may not be able to move the audience unless the speech has touched the heart and caused a lasting impact. If the communicator is able to relate his message with touching stories, it is more likely to cause a lasting impact. Indeed, most hearers tend to forget facts and figures, but they can remember stories that have inspired them for a long time.

首先，传递的信息能讓聽衆感同身受。举个例子，在经济不景气的时候，很多人都感受到了经济压力。但他们表达挫折感的方式通常会根据自己的教育和社会背景而大不相同。如果他们受过高等教育，他们可能会将经济衰退与通货膨胀率和货币贬值的数据联系起来。至于来自低收入阶层的人群，数据可能是他们无法理解的数目字。然而，好的演讲者会引用日常生计问题来表达这个群体的切身感受，比如现在不少人的曰常饮食已经大不如前，他们过去吃一顿饭时能够有两道菜，而现在只能以一盘蔬菜用饭。结果采用吃饭为例将更能引起这群人的共鸣。

第二个方面是要达到激励人心。一个好的沟通者是可能透过他理性和逻辑的内容来说服聽衆，但这样的表达方式不一定能感动他们，而好的演讲会触动人心，并产生持久的影响。如果演讲者能够把他的信息与感人故事联系起来，它比较可能造成持久的冲击。往往大多数听众会忘记聽过的伩息和数据，但是却会长久地记住那激励过他们的故事。
