Everybody Is Good for Something 天生我才必有用

Everybody is born for a destiny, which is good for something. When such person functions well, it is usually related to one’s gift or talent. Therefore, it is helpful to identify one’s dominant gift.

There are different tools, which can be used to identify the gift or talent of a person. Even there is no such available tool, it is still possible to gaze into one’s gift.

One way to know a person’s gift is by recognising the person who enjoys and does well in the work related to his or her gift. For example, if it is a teaching gift. The person will enjoy teaching and the people can quite easily benefit from his or her teaching. Hence, an appropriate profession for the person is teacher.

The other indicator of the person’s gift is based on sense of satisfaction. Using a gifted teacher as an example again, the teacher will find it rewarding to teach and getting monetary return is usually not his or her main concern. However, a gifted person of a particular job is much sought after, and normally the person is able to make a living by utilising one’s gift. There may be cases, such gift may not being looked for, then the person may still happy to use the gift but more like enjoying a hobby. For such example, a person good in drawing may not find himself or herself capable of making a living in a society that does not emphasise on artistic works. Hence, such gift can become underused in such society but only remains as a hobby.

As everyone is intended to be good for something, a society or a country should learn to identify the gifts of different people. Whenever more gifted people are utilised to do different works, we find ourselves living in a more enriching and versatile society.

每个人都具有一个命定，即人生的目的，这应该有一定的供献。当一个人能良好發挥时，通常都会与他的才能有关。因此，识别一个人所拥有的主要才华是有助益的事情。

今天有不同的工具可用于分析一个人的才能。即使没有这样的工具，仍然可以透过观察以了解一个人的才华。

要识别一个人的才华可以根据那人的喜好，并且發现到他在进行与该才能相关的工作时会做得很好。例如，如果教导是他的才能，他会享受教学，並且其他人会很容易地从他的教学中受益。如此，一般上那个人的适合职业是当一名老师。

该人的才华的另一个指标是满足感。再一次以拥有教导才幹的老师为例，该教师会体验到教学的回报，而钱财的回报通常不是他最主要的关注点。经常一位有天赋的特定工作者会在有关的圈子
备受器重，而这个人通常可以透过他的才华取得生计。然而也可能出现这样的情况，即拥有某项才华的人不獲得看重，而这个人仍然乐于從事和他才华有关的事情，但是他却只能以它作为爱好而不能换成生计。
对于这样的情形，例如一个善于绘画的人难以在一个不强调艺术作品的社会中谋生。即然拥有这方面才华的人不被使用，他也只好用其才华作为一种爱好。

由于每个人都应善用才华，而且一个社会或国家则应该懂得识别不同人的才华。一旦更多的人能按天赋来從事不同的工作，我们将会生活在一个更加丰富和多才多艺的社会。
