Craving what?

Hello,
Cravings" are not just the prerogative of pregnant women. We have all had, at least once, a craving for a certain food, usually sweet, fatty: or rich in carbohydrates: a piece of chocolate, some potato chips or a slice of pizza.
However, not everyone knows that these cravings are often signals that our body sends us to warn us that it is deficient in certain minerals. Which one?
These are the most common associations.

Chocolate

Craving chocolate is the most common temptation and is often linked to a magnesium deficiency.
This mineral is necessary for more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body and is also known for its relaxing properties.
As an alternative to chocolate, it is possible to recharge magnesium with nuts, seeds, fruits and vegetables.

Confectionery

The desire for sweet foods can be traced back to a lack of several minerals, including:
chromium (helps regulate blood sugar levels)
phosphorus (helps the body produce energy)
sulfur (helps eliminate toxins)
tryptophan (regulates serotonin).
Varying our diet as much as possible helps to keep our body "mineralized", thus reducing the craving for sugars.

Refined carbohydrates

If you crave bread, breadsticks or pasta, you probably have a nitrogen deficiency.
To remedy this simply add foods richer in this mineral such as eggs, potatoes and legumes to your diet.

Then there are the less common but no less interesting birthmarks.

Craving for fatty and oily foods : indicates calcium deficiency. Good sources of calcium are vegetables in general and broccoli in particular.
Craving for ice : indicates iron deficiency. In this case, it is good to consume foods rich in iron, such as green leafy vegetables, molasses and seaweed.
Craving for salty foods : indicates a lack of chloride and/or silicon. Fish, nuts and seeds are ideal foods in this case.
