about Nazmi Ziya Güran

Nazmi Ziya, born in 1881 in the Horhor neighborhood of Istanbul, Aksaray, comes from the Akşemsettin Molla Gurani family, a teacher of Fatih Sultan Mehmet. She did not take a good look at her fondness for handicrafts and painting that started at a young age. His uncle Major Hasip wanted to support his painting love, but he stopped his lessons because he was afraid to get in touch with his family.

Professionally Nazmi Ziya received his first private lesson from Hoca Ali Rıza. In 1902 he entered the School of Industry-i Nefise, where he learned lessons from Valery, Varnia and Oskan Efendi. In 1908 he graduated from school and went to France and continued to work at Academia Julian, where Marcel Bachet and Royer taught. Later he entered Cormon's workshop and worked there until 1913. Nazmi Ziya has adopted and practiced impressionist technique throughout his life.

Composing the compositions by arranging the colors side by side without mixing them together. Cypress clusters, trees, blue, purple-shaded streets dominate the paintings. Transforms the effects of light, which varies from hour to hour, in outdoor artifacts. When Nazmi Ziya, who was included in the group of Istanbul painters, died in 1937, he wrote the name of "Most Successful Impressionist" in Turkish painting art.
