Pain humbles a man, brings him down to his knees no matter how big he might pain.
The strongest pain evokes silence, teeth too clenched to let any sound out. At that point you stop crying, the tears run out on their own accord.

And even after it's gone, you still remain hollow.

I was in so much pain I begged to pass on
