CTE: Not caused by concussions
chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), the Alzheimer's-like disease that is well known throughout the National Football League, and its fanbase. Its cause was originally linked to concussions and hits to the head. however, based on new information it's believed that CTE can start early on and in patients who never had (or showed signs of ) a concussion. What this means is that you don't have to play in the NFL to develop CTE, and it can develop as early as 17/18 years old.

This can't mean.. Concusion dont cause CTE?
No, what it means is that CTE isn't only caused by concussions (which was originally suggested).
While Concussions are linked to many cases of CTE, individuals who never suffered a concussion can still develop CTE from other forms of brain trauma.
@originalworks
Encephalopathy is also a side affect listed on several childhood vaccines. Neuological damage can certainly be from many sources, I didn't know it was something NFL players suffer from. Very interesting.
