Bitclub Bitcoin pyramid schemes/promising bitcoin earnings through marketing ect

in #bitcoin8 years ago (edited)

I haven't done extensive research into this club/company, but what I have seen so far has raised red flags. There is this club/company called Bitclub that I've seen being promoted and its screams scam to me. The fact that the authors are letting you know that you can join the club through a VPN and that they will "sponsor" you pretty much tells me everything I need to know.

Sponsoring simply means that if you join through the person's link then the person will get a cut of the money you spend as your initial investment. Once you have invested, the burden is on you to bring more people into the club in order to harvest part of their investment and keep the pyramid growing at the bottom.

The promoters will tell you this is a "rare opportunity" and other things to try and get you to leap before you look, but once the stream of people joining the club ends, the pyramid collapses leaving the late joiners holding the losses. Other examples I can think of right off of current pyramid schemes are Plexus the supposed health drink that is very overpriced, and a new fantasy sport app called Firefan that has pyramid tendencies. If I'm wrong I will apologize, but its always better to be careful with hard earned money.
