Steem's potential

When people come to Steemit from Bitcoin they’re skeptical and it is because it has so many revolutionary features all wrapped into one package, it is hard to believe it really exists.

Think about how people unfamiliar with crypto feel about steemit. To them, it just doesn't make any sense how its possible that this exists. They can't wrap their minds about how it even works, or how the value exists. Many take for granted just how accustomed to revolutionary technology we all are.

I didn't even notice it had zero fee's until I read it somewhere.

I wasn't very skeptical about Steem, just like any other cryptocurrency I'm very cautious of my investment (in this case it's time, and writing good articles). I've been with bitcoin for quite a while, and a friend of mine asked me to join Steemit on Google+, eventually another friend also opened his account so I decided to follow the bandwagon. As far as I can tell, Steem & Steemit seems to be a great idea, I just hope the whales or the elite steemers don't kill small time posters since they have more weight in the algorithm.

Folks need to come to grips with the fact that btc and Steem aren't competitors. Some seem almost threatened with each new crypto, as if it's denigrating BTC. Steem is complementary and has its own place. Will BTC always be king of the hill? Maybe. For now, it's always the main comparison. But Steem, ETH, Dash and others are filling niches that the market is demanding. Eventually, some will be isolated to certain platforms while others rise to the top. At least I hope so. Trying to balance a basket of cryptos seems a bit superfluous to me. But it'll take some time to shake out.
