IBM Launches Payment Network on Stellar Blockchain
Tech giant IBM launched a payment network on the Stellar blockchain, and has reportedly already partnered with 6 international banks to develop stable coins on it.
The protocol is called IBM Blockchain World Wire, and is said to settle "cross-border payments in near real time" (source).
IBM has also proposed to its global banking partners that they use "XLM as a bridge currency whenever it becomes hard to trade one fiat-backed stablecoin for another" (source).
In further news for Stellar today, Coinbase announced it will add XLM trading pairs to its exchange.
XLM is trading at $0.11 at the time of this writing.
