Happy Smelly Thursday!

Today, I planned to write a final piece about the whole steem-tron situation but middle way through I said, fuck it. I doubt there is anything more to add or say that someone else hasn't already. So instead, I will talk about today.

So, today in Greece we celebrate Τσικνοπέμπτη. According to wikipedia, in English you would call it

Smelly Thursday, or even Charred, Smoky, or Barbeque Thursday "because of the smell of the grilled meat in the air", is part of the traditional celebrations for Carnival (in Greek: Αποκριά) season in Greece and Cyprus.

Without getting much into the history behind the tradition, all you need to know is that it's a day marking the beginning of the Greek Carnival and it essentially serves as yet another excuse for us Greeks to eat animals, like fucking animals. And also it serves as a great excuse for workers in the public sector to leave their jobs earlier than they usually do. Of course they get paid the same. After all, this is Greece. We like to whine about small wages, unemployment, etc etc, while trying to avoid working as much as we can. Makes sense right?

So what we do, is go out with friends and or family and grill. We grill on the beaches, we grill on the landing grounds, we grill in the fields and in the streets, we grill in the hills. We grill with growing confidence and growing strength in our charcoals.

So, like most Greeks, we planned to grill today in my place with friends and family. Unfortunately the weather had other plans for my small city near Mt Olympus as it wouldn't stop raining. So we cancelled our plans and instead my wife cooked something meaty just for me and Hera

Steak and fries. Ok, I can live with that.
