Do Turtles Have a Sense of Humour?

I decided to do something a little different this week Paul, so if I have broken the rules by adding photos that have had a digital application given to them I'll consider myself severely reprimanded in advance...........and prepare for the fate that awaits me.
A large turtle drapes himself over a log and keeps a wary eye on me as I take a couple of shots. He didn't seem to mind my presence but I simply could not coax a smile out of him. I wasn't prepared to just walk away wondering if I had offended him or not. I was just about to give up when I had a brain wave!
I told him one of my husband's Dad jokes and that did it. I was rewarded with a wry smile. "Thank You Mr Turtle! and "Thank You John for the Dad joke. Someone thought it was funny."

Aww he is a cute bugger! I just wouldnt try to pet him. I actually stopped my car on a not so busy road today and rescued a nice painted turtle. I would have taken a pic but they drivers around here dont like being stopped for a turtle.
You're such a hero! I don't think we have those lovely painted turtles here. Some drivers are just so cranky aren't they? Next time you come to the rescue of wildlife pull the bonnet up of your car and pretend you are having car problems and grab your camera for some good shots. (lol)
