My Wednesday Walk-To The Movies
I enjoy reading about some of the interesting walks steemians submit to @tattoodjay's #wednesdaywalk challenge. I also wholeheartedly agree with his concept behind this challenge.......i.e., to get us out and about with our cameras, to become more observant of our suuroundings, come back and share our '10 minute' approximately distance to boost our metabolism, improve our health and general sense of well being.
But today, I had a significant problem with some of these ideals for my walk. You see, Brisbane is experiencing a Spring Heat wave and the Heat and I are not good companions. I avoid it like the plague.......which of course, poses a definite challenge for me with venturing outdoors when the temps don't cool down enough for me to enjoy a walk without getting stressed.
But where there's a will, there's a way. And as Frankie said, "I Did it My Way.' I did most of my walking in an air conditioned shopping center.........all the way to the movies.
With the walking theme fueling my motivation, I didn't ask my obliging chauffeur to drop me off at the door (like I usually do when its really hot) I walked from the car park to the side entrance of the Peninsula Shopping center.
And to prove this I took a couple of shots of the car park. I was actually looking for a late model Merc or BMW to pretend that was our car but couldn't find any in my hurry. John (my part time chauffeur and full time husband) and I didn't allow enough time to make our way leisurely to the movie so the pressure was on to get enough reasonable photos to create a post.
Some people! They forget this is a 'car' park, not a 'trolley' park. They cannot walk a few more steps to park their trolley in the right place! Brief rant over!
Into the air conditioning! Sigh! That feels good.
What's this? Santa is in town already doing his pre-Christmas promotional work? He doesn't look too happy about it either. Perhaps he's worried that the barber is going to chop off his luxurious white beard and we know how that would go down with the kids of Queensland.......not good at all. Poor guy, He has to wear those winter clothes at Christmas to deliver parcels in the heat of summer in this part of the world. I think he deserves a pay rise. I love kids and love giving presents but I wouldn't do his job.
"Oh look John. Isn't that dress gorgeous? I can just imagine........." Too late. He's gone. He doesn't want to be late for the movie. Neither do I. And he knows it. (lol) So, Note to Self. Return to fashion store, minus husband, and endeavour to give that model a run for her money. Yeah......I'm joking.
KMart is having a party but I havent got time to celebrate with them.
Just around the corner I find a cool green car. If those wheels weren't stuck to the ground I'd be tempted to hop in and take the short cut to the movies. But then, that would defeat the purpose of Wednesday Walk wouldn't it?
No time for book browsing......
"Hey John.......Mathers is having a sale! HALF PRICE SHOES!" I'm talking to thin air and get a strange look from a guy as he walks past.
I try to catch up and as I speed past the info station loose sheets of paper fly into the air and land on the floor. Complete chaos! Yeah.......I'm just joking.
Not far to go now. The steps to the Movie Theatre are just ahead. And in case you are wondering. There are thirty steps to the top. I should kknow. I counted them quickly as I ascended on the escalator. So I cheated. What are you going to do about it? Stop reading this post? That would be sad, but I can live with that.
No popcorn for us. Never mind. John sneaked a packet of jaffas in my handbag before we left home.
Sign boards are flashing as they advertise upcoming movies. I'm taking photos quickly and have no idea how they will turn out. I think you can see enough detail though.
Phew. We made it. With 8 minutes to spare. That's my marathon for the day.
Oh No! More Stairs! But if one wants to park themselves way up the back for the best view, one has to make a little bit more effort. Are you proud of me @tattoodjay?
Look at those comfortable recliners. It is no good taking my husband to the movies in this theatre unless the first ten minutes grab his attention and manages to keep his attention throughout the movie otherwise his time there becomes an expensive snooze time for him.
The movie we chose to watch was 'A Star is Born.' I won't give you any details apart form this. I loved it. Both Lady Gaga and Brad Cooper gave gripping performances and I did shed a tear at the end. The story line was ok, but frankly, I would have been just as happy to listen to the pair of them sing for entire time. Lady Gaga can sing!!!!!!
Before I go........if you are wondering what to give me for Christmas, here is a little hint.
THANK YOU FOR VIEWING. HAVE A GREAT DAY.
Nice one Trudee. I found this under #walkwithme. And to my surprise it was my old TSú friend again.. From the land down under. You keep popping up everywhere... Which is fun. Did you have a bucket of popcorn for old times sake?
Were we missing some pictures at the end? Wanted to see what films were coming up and just how good thoes recliners were. Is this a remake of A star is born... Will have to check it out I too like Lady Gags 😄😎

Hi Andy. If I do keep popping up everywhere it is not because I eat popcorn, I used to, but these days I avoid corn products completely. If you found me on my #walkwithme blog does this mean you submitted a #walkwithme post too? I shall have to do a little exploring to find out.
A Star is Born is a remake of the original one and those recliners are divine. A little too comfortable in fact.
Ha ha dont you remember the old days sitting round the camp fire with popcorn and smores, with the Rabit and the Beads the Mermaid, Meiling and many more? I found you on walk with me as it was started by another TSÚ friend @lyndsaybowes. And yes there are a few walks on there done by me. 😄

Oh yes......those were indeed, the good ol days @andyjem We were certainly entertained with the enigmatic, sometimes charming and sometimes disturbing 'Rabbit' and I do miss the easy comradery we experienced with a great bunch of Tsu friends. Steemit has filled that gap somewhat, and provided even more opportunities for us.
Enjoy your Sunday my friend.
??????
Should I understand this???? :-)
Understand what?????? Now you've got me confused, (lol)
That comment you wrote above in reply to my resteem notification... (check the whole conversation...)
That's really weird as I didn't put that comment there and it wasn't showing up on my laptop. Thanks for telling me. My apologies. I have deleted it and hope it doesn't happen again. No wonder you questioned my sanity (lol)

Walking in doors in the heat is a very sensible idea ,I will be doing that I suspect in the depths of winter
I must say it looks like a rela cool Mall to be walking through
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk tip!
I will be back later to resteem
I thoroughly recommend the movie JJ. I didn't want to say too much about the movie because I hate spoilers myself. This was Brad cooper's first movie production and I think he did a great job. Many thanks for you support and tip. Greatly appreciated.
Thanks I will for sure see it sometime soon
Have a great day
Hi @trudeehunter! You have received 0.1 SBD tip from @tattoodjay!

I thought K-mart was just in the USA! Weird. They're actually having a lot of trouble over here. Quite a few of their stores have disappeared. That looks likea pretty fancy theater, with the sparkly floor!
KMart are really big in Australia @fotosdenada They've managed to keep thier prices down so it is affordable for average families. Your visits, comments and support are truy appreciated.
Runningbriskly walking to a movie should definitely count I think, specially given how ridiculously large some of these shopping centres are XDI keep thinking I should join in one of these but I usually forget XD and also prbably need to start hauling out of bed earlier in the morning to be able to fit one in x_x
You are too kind @ryivhnn I did a mixture of running and walking so I suppose you could call it 'Brunning,' (lol) I definitely think you should join in the fun. Let me know if you'd like me to arrange an early morning wake up call for you next Wednesday. I know someone who owns a big water pistol and for a reasonable fee
hesheme could get in some target practise. (:This was pretty funny. I might do one next week. I wanted to do one today but forgot it was Thursday.
Hello @shaidon Many thanks for your visit and support. Hopefully you will get the days right next week........It's so easy forget which day it is when you are busy.
I'm in Australia which often means that I am a day ahead of most of Steemit, but thankfully I use Steempeak and it means that I can schedule my posts to launch when I want them to. I just have to remember that I can do that. Normally I just post content as soon as I can.
I'm in Australia too @shaidon and sometimes I make the mistake of thinking I have penty of time to post for specific contests and challenges and still rush to get my entry in. I use esteem and we can schedule posts there too but I haven't got used to taking advantage of this feature yet.
I really enjoyed that walk. Thanks for sharing it. You included some great images, but my favorite was that nearly monochrome shot of the empty theatre. Glad you enjoyed the movie too!
Thank you @kunschj That is wonderful to hear. Your visit, comments and support is greatly appreciated.
