Glorious, Golden Gazanias.

in #petals8 years ago

This is my entry for @yellowflowerday ; which is one of the contests initiated and organized by @adrianobalan and @sardrt called, @petals

There is so much to love about these glorious, golden gazanias with their perfectly formed petals and the lovely three toned colours of yellow, red and white.

Gazania Flowers are a genus of the Asteraceae family. There are many species which make it hard for them to be distinguished. Their daisy-like composite flower-heads are vibrant in colour ranging from white, cream yellow, red and brown.

They are from South Africa but grow very well in Australia as they thrive in sunny areas. They are often planted as an effective groundcover and are tolerant to drought conditions.

I love gazania but this is very different from what I've seen here. Beautiful anyway! Have a nice evening dear Trudee 😊

Thank you my friend. I hope these flowers are part of the gazania family......that's what I was told. They are very striking though aren't they?

I don't know, I'm not an expert but the gazania flowers I've seen here are a brown circle in the middle and only have one row of petals. These look more like crisanthynums (I am not sure of the spelling). However, there might be many kinds of gazania types, so who knows? 😊

I love the vibrancy in your photos. Such regal flowers. The color lines are sharp and purposeful. I like the deepening saturation in the reds / purples against the yellow. Very striking.

These flowers were captured in their prime @country-girl and I was glad to come across them when out walking. Many thanks for your welcome support.
