Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Receives Six More Titles

in #games7 years ago

Microsoft is slowly, really slowly, adding games from the previous Xbox generations to the Xbox One backwards compatibility list. We have this problem because console manufacturers seem to refuse to stick with one company for chipsets so we have incompatibility issues between generations of hardware. This is probably done on purpose, so they can control what games you can continue playing on the newer hardware (and you have to buy new games for the new console).

Anyhow, here are the six titles that were just added to the backwards compatibility list:

Call of Duty: Ghosts
Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood
Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3
Radiant Silvergun
Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII
Cyber Troopers Virtual-On OT

Any fans of any of these?

Did you see at E3 this year they announced that they will start to work on backward compatibility with original Xbox games.
I wish they would have made it easier for xbox 360 games and original xbox games to be played on the xbox one.

Your wish is something we have heard since the invention of CD-ROM gaming consoles. Unfortunately, Sony learned why "easy" backwards compatibility is not good for sales of the modern games. When the Playstation 2 released they had backwards compatibility included and pretty much sales of the PS2 games were quite low as everyone was buying PSOne games to play on the new console (and DVD movies).
