Why Do You Still Play Video Games?

in #gaming7 years ago

I am almost 41 years old and I still play video games. That is more of a statement than a confession. I am not ashamed that I still play video games. My reasons for still playing them is pretty simple. I enjoy them. I live in the south, Arkansas to be exact, and well, if you are not into hunting, fishing, or otherwise generally killing something there is not a lot to do around here. That was not how I came to play video games though - I grew up in northern California and just generally enjoyed games. I like that I can be a space captain one minute, a pirate another, a race car driver or whatever at the flip of a switch and a few taps or changing of the cartridge/CD. Video games never became boring to me. That is why I still play them.

Sort:

I play games because I love them. They are fun, they can be challenging, and I have been into them for so long. I started off with the Super nintendo then gameboy and just kind of went from there. I don't get to play my system or games I love the most very often but I get to play some other fun games with my daughter daily on the Wii U so I still call it a win. Games have no "when to quit" age limit, at least not in my mind.

I hope I never lose the love for video games. Considering how long I have been playing them (I'm 34) I highly doubt it's going away anytime soon. If they keep making them I will keep playing them :)

I cant wait for that steemit game.

Steemit game?

Because I'm a geek. Geeks play games and buy crypto.

Yes. This. Indeed.

I am almost 43 and play video games. They're an excellent value for the money as far as entertainment value goes, and they have incredibly creative fanbases who often produce additional content. Right now I've been replaying some older stuff, including The Binding of Isaac Rebirth. Very fond of roguelikes.

I love roguelikes. I played Diablo for years before it donned on me that it was basically a pretty roguelike. lol No wonder I enjoyed playing it so much.

Know of any new roguelikes coming out?

At this point, it's basically a habit/addiction. :)

Would that make stores like GameStop the dealer?

No, man, I could quit any time I wanted to. :)

No age for mind.
