Telltale Making Games for Netflix
It is strange to think this, but Telltale Games is apparently making games for Netflix. You read that right. Telltale Games are working on games specifically tailored for the Netflix service which already has a few games available. What, you didn’t know that?
What Netflix are calling “games” are interactive stories that make the old Sega CD Full Motion Video games look like frenetic action games. Seriously. At least in games like Dracula Unleashed or even room switching games like Night Trap and Double Switch had some user control involved.
The Netflix interactive shows amount to picking one of two choices at different intervals during the show. This style is more akin to that of the absolute earliest FMV games such as Dragon’s Lair. Unlike that classic game, there is no death animation if you are not quick enough to pick the right path or action.
I checked out Buddy Thunderstruck: The Maybe Pile for this article and can confirm, this is simple stuff. It must be really, I mean considering the input device most people have it cannot be too complicated.
Your interaction is limited to picking the left or right choice and pushing the ok button on your remote. Simple is a good way to describe it.
The only Telltale Games title confirmed for the interactive stories service within Netflix is Minecraft: Story Mode. This special edition of Minecraft will feature five interactive narrative stories for fans to traverse.
Now, I admit, much like others writing about this, I really want to play a Batman game but unlike other outlets, I am not going to sit here and tell you that that is happening. There simply is no proof it will happen. Neither is the upcoming Telltale Games version of Stranger Things confirmed for Netflix’s interactive story service (though it would be stupid not to make a version).
Right now, there are only a few interactive stories available, but it shows Netflix is interested in expanding this service. Current titles include:
Stretch Armstrong: The Breakout
Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale
Buddy Thunderstruck: The Maybe Pile
Considering how simple these interactive stories are, it is easily believable that we will see more in this style. I personally would like it. It gives a good reason to go back and watch a show again, choosing the other option.

I did not know netflix was making interactive games. Curious what they will come up with. Thank you for sharing.
There are a few already available. They are super simple affairs but are more interactive than just watching television.
