Skyrim Coming to Nintendo Switch, Finally Shown in Action

Great news for Skyrim fans. That is if you want a closed environment free of user created mods (I am assuming that part). Skyrim was confirmed to be coming to the Nintendo Switch when the console was first announced late last year. We are just now getting to see it in action (about time Bethesda).

What is interesting about the Nintendo Switch version of Skyrim is that you will apparently get to make use of some Legend of Zelda style items. First, you can dress up like Link from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, second, if you use the Link Amiibo you get access to something better. Using that particular Amiibo will release a treasure chest into Skyrim. Inside that treasure chest is apparently Links’ Master Sword, Hylian shield and the aforementioned outfit to finish off the intended look. Rather cool.

This reminds me of Soul Calibur II. Each console platform had its own exclusive character included. Link was in the Nintendo Gamecube version while Spawn was in the Xbox version with Heihachi Mishima sporting karate moves in the Playstation 2 edition. Doesn’t really add anything to the announcement of Skyrim finally coming to the Nintendo Switch other than lending out their characters is something Nintendo has done before.

Skyrim for the Nintendo Switch will feature three official add-ons, or expansion packs if you like. Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn.
