Killing Floor: Incursion Launches Exclusively on Oculus Rift

in #games9 years ago

Here we go with exclusives for this and that. This is something that gamers have had to live with since the earliest days. It is sad that we still have to live with it but this will stick around as long as there are incompatible with each other platforms. Killing Floor: Inursion looks awesome though, I don't own the hardware to run it.

Full press release:

ROSWELL, GA — August 16, 2017 – Tripwire Interactive is pleased to announce today that Killing Floor: Incursion, their new VR game based on the multi-million unit selling action horror franchise Killing Floor, is now available for purchase exclusively on the Oculus Store for $39.99. Owners of the Oculus Rift who also own the Oculus Touch controllers (required for Killing Floor: Incursion) can get the game now.

Check out the Killing Floor: Incursion launch trailer here:

“Bringing the Killing Floor universe to VR has enabled us to create experiences and gameplay we couldn’t have achieved in a traditional game” says Leland Scali, Project Lead at Tripwire Interactive.

In Killing Floor: Incursion, players must take on the role of an elite Horzine Security Forces soldier as they team up with allies to fend off the horrific Zed hordes using an array of weapons including guns, blades and more. Players will be able to freely explore as they move throughout the environment, scavenging for weapons and ammo while searching for the best locations to fight the monster onslaught. Battle in diverse environments from creepy farmhouses to high-tech facilities through Horzine Security Forces missions and unlock the secrets of the Zeds’ origins.

Killing Floor: Incursion is developed and published by Tripwire Interactive for Oculus Rift + Touch.

It's a good franchise to make into a VR zombie shooter, definitely.

I remember the first Killing Floor, I think. Couldn't you nail enemies to the wall with a wooden stake firing gun?

Indeed you could. It's an immensely satisfying game to play co-op. They are offering Killing Floor 2 in next month's Humble Monthly as their immediate unlock game, probably to promote this Oculus release.

Would make sense to use an older game to promote the newer release. I wish more companies would do that.
