Commodore 64 Receives Port of Puzzle Game Iceblox

in #games7 years ago

Late last year was a great time for Commodore 64 users. A lot of great games were announced and/or released. Games like Sam’s Journey, which technically should not run on the Commodore 64. Kicking off 2018 we have a new port for the good old Commodore 64 – Iceblox. This is a puzzle game originally released for cell phones many years ago.

The gameplay of Iceblox is rather simple. Think of classics like Kickle Cubicle (Nintendo Entertainment System) and Tricky Kick (Turbo Grafx-16) and you will have a good idea of what to do in Iceblox.

Simply push the blocks of ice around the level, focusing on the ones containing coins since collecting all the coins in a level is how you progress. You can earn additional points for defeating the flames that pop up during the level by pushing block of ice onto them, extinguishing them.

That is pretty much it for Iceblox. That is the premise but as with Tetris and the whole “just make lines across the screen” there is a lot of strategy and tough to master techniques to keep in mind while playing. Iceblox was just released and is available for free at CSDB.
