My First White Chimney Cap

in #work8 years ago (edited)

This is my first white chimney cap. Most of the chimney caps I make are painted a darker color or they are made of copper. The painted ones, like this one, are made of a type of metal called "paint grip". It is a metal that does not require primer paint prior to being painted the desired color.

This chimney cap is about 90 inches wide, 40 inches deep and is approximately 20 inches tall. This is not the biggest one that @bassmaster123 and myself have built but it is a big one. The largest one we have made was about 12 feet by 5 feet and about 25 inches tall. Still, almost eight feet in width is quite a lot to work with.

Pretty proud of this one as it is my first white one. I wonder how long before I get to paint that canary yellow one I keep mentioning when colors come up for these?

How many colour this cap?

Just one. White. I am not sure of the exact shade of white as the customer provided a sample from the cap we were replacing and a local paint store matched it.
