What is plagiarism?
Plagiarism can be referred to using someone else's work without actually giving them the proper recognition for their work.

For instance: this sentence below;

"Presenting work or ideas from another source as your own, with or without consent of the original author, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement“.

This can easily be found in academic writing, in that, people are fond of plagiarizing words, ideas or information from a source without proper citation or making references to the originator of those write-ups.

This is a punishable offense under the copyright law, because it is an infringement of personal property(s).

That is why it is advisable to try as much as possible to be very creative, innovative and smart in your thinking; and also try to have a self- developmental attitude, in that you don't depend on people for solution but be the problem solver all the solution giver.

You can simply achieve this through attending seminars, workshops, picnics, sitting under the tutelage of great people and most importantly have a moment with your yourself; what this means is that you can sit alone and reminisce about your life, past events, occurrences etc. This action can birthed out ideas, revelations you could ever imagine.

Instead of looking for what and where to do copy and paste, you can actually gain those knowledge by yourself and also know them for yourself. That is the ultimate knowledge.

In other to still expatiate on plagiarism, I'm going to mention different types of plagiarism and their explanations:

Types of plagiarism

• Global plagiarism:
Here someone pass off an entire text by someone else as his or her own.

• Another is verbatim plagiarism:
This is copying part of someone else's work directly.

• Another type plagiarism is called paraphrasing:
This is another type of plagiarism in which you pick another person's idea, rephrase it to present them as yours.

• Then we also have patchwork plagiarism:
This is a situation that you try to stitch together parts of different sources. that is you combine different sources to create a post or a write-up.

• Self- plagiarism:
This is recycling or posting some of your past works.

In conclusion: it pays to be you not a copycat, because there's integrity in self worth.
