Poland joins list of countries with zero Covid entry requirements

in #travel2 years ago

It's starting to make me very happy as more and more countries decide to completely eliminate all entry requirements to get in. Just like the 25 other countries in the world that have joined this movement, they have absolutely no restrictions on entry to their country that are Covid-oriented.

Basically, if you are eligible for a visa, you can go there. Your vaccination status is irrelevant and they won't even ask. There is also no PCR test or quarantine requirement for entry.

I wouldn't call Poland a tourist destination and its proximity to Ukraine probably makes it a less than desirable place to visit at the moment but to me, it is just exciting to see that so many countries, especially ones in Europe, have had enough with what I consider to be Covid nonsense.

I say this because for years we have had all sorts of restrictions in place with some countries being more hardcore than others and none of them were successful in preventing basically anything. There are probably some people out there that would suggest that the efforts slowed the spread and I don't want to argue with anyone about that. I just feel that now, 2 years later, we either need to accept a bit of risk in life or go ahead and get inside of our literal bubble suits in order to prevent being exposed to anything that might harm us.

I know that for me, I would rather face the possibility of harm and be able to enjoy life than be 100% safe and be forced to stay in a room.

I'll be honest and say that I have never been to Poland and am unlikely to visit there anytime soon, or ever for that matter. According to people I know that have been there the highlights include castles, unique parks, and of course very tragic World War 2 historical sites.

Like most places in Europe, there is also some pretty awesome nature stuff and to me the Morskie Oko Lake looks like it could definitely be worth a visit. Poland is considered by many to be one of the most overlooked tourism destinations in Europe and it is also a very cheap one to visit if you are a backpacker. you can expect to spend around $20 a day on dorms, food, and drink but obviously this can go up dramatically depending on your specific needs.

This post wasn't really so much of a promoting Poland tourism post because having never been there I am not the person you should listen to about that. This was a celebration of them becoming the 26th country in the world to drop all regulations as far as entry is concerned. We only have about 170 to go.
